Face to Face, Celebrating Five Years

by newsletter writer Jenna Duxbury

For half a decade, Carolina Muse has grown through every issue, sustained by a team of volunteers and an ever-growing community of artists, writers, musicians, and creators whose work continues to shape the voice of the Carolinas. A strong sense of community is part of what makes our magazine unique, and we hope you'll be part of our in-person gathering at Arts Jam on Saturday, October 11th from 1pm-4pm at Goldie's in Charlotte! This event is a great opportunity to honor the last five years and to nurture the community that will carry Carolina Muse into the years to come.

Join us for Arts Jam 2025!

During this event, we will celebrate Carolina Muse's fifth birthday AND the release day for Volume V, Issue III of Carolina Muse. There will be a show with live music, dance performances, and poetry readings,  and local art & crafts will be for sale! Plus, Goldie's has some excellent food & drink options, so come hungry! We will also be running a raffle, where you could win free art & more.

Submissions are open now through December 15th!

Now is your chance to be published in the first issue of 2026. Be part of the legacy of the first five years of our exquisite, independent literary & arts magazine! We are accepting poetry, short stories, dance pieces, original music, paintings, photography, sculptures, and mixed media pieces for consideration. Please refer to our submissions page for instructions about submitting your work. We can't wait to see what you create!

We want to grow our team!

We're currently in search of an Outreach Coordinator to straddle the world between networking IRL and marketing online. If you're interested in building partnerships with local arts organizations and looking for a great volunteer experience to add to your resume, consider joining the Carolina Muse marketing team!

We are also looking for a Music Editor! This person will help the music section of the magazine, from submission gathering & sorting to selecting pieces and working with creators on necessary revisions.

Learn more about the requirements & responsibilities of both positions, and apply here.
