Support your local food pantry!

by newsletter writer Jenna Duxbury

As of this writing at the beginning of November, millions of families across the United States are currently facing hunger as a result of SNAP benefits being suspended during the ongoing federal government shutdown. If you are in a position to help, now is a critical time to contribute canned goods and donations to your local food pantry! Websites like the Food Finder of Central & Eastern North Carolina or Feeding the Carolinas allow you to search by location to find free food pantries near you. You likely have both church-organized and non-religious-affiliated food distribution centers in your town or city; giving them a phone call to ask what they need can help you discern what kinds of donations to prioritize.

Arts Jam 2025 Highlights.webp

Thank you for an incredible
Arts Jam event!

In October, we celebrated five years of Carolina Muse with a live event in Charlotte, NC. Thank you to all our creators who participated in the Arts Jam performance showcase, and thank you to all those who brought their unique, hand-crafted pieces to display and sell in our art market! It was an incredible day filled with music, dance, poetry, writing, textiles, photography, paintings, and great food & drinks courtesy of our lovely host, Goldie's. Best of all, we loved getting the chance to gather in person and celebrate our creative community💗

V.III is out NOW✨

Our final issue of the year is available now in digital format. Read it for free on our website.

Let these pieces wash over you and transport you somewhere otherworldly... or nudge you out of your comfort zone into a new perspective!

Please refer to our submissions page for instructions about submitting your work through Duosuma. We can't wait to see what you create!

Want to join our editorial team?

💌 We're currently in search of an Outreach Coordinator to straddle the world between networking IRL and marketing online. If you're interested in building partnerships with local arts organizations and looking for a great volunteer experience to add to your resume, consider joining the Carolina Muse marketing team!
